As an instructional technologist, learning, using, and teaching software and technology is part of my everyday life. However, like most people in the technology world, there are some software and programs that we have more experience with making us more proficient in those than others. But there are also those we find are our favorites and feel like add value above and beyond the standard office software. This is a list of some of the software I am most proficiant in with my favorites highlighted.

Software Favorites

YuJa

YuJa is a video content creation and management software that integrates into many enterprise systems such as an LMS, SSO, CMS, and more. YuJa has built-in captioning capabilities, quiz-building tools, an easy-to-use video editor, web streaming capabilities, and more. It also allows you to move all of that web video content from sources like YouTube, Vimeo, etc. to one location for easy sharing into your courses.

Blackboard ALLY

Blackboard Ally is a revolutionary product that integrates seamlessly into the learning management system and focuses on making digital course content more accessible and helps institutions build a more inclusive learning environment and improve the student experience by helping them take clear control of course content with usability, accessibility, and quality in mind.

Respondus Monitor and Lockdown Browser

Respondus Monitor and Lockdown Browser is an online proctoring program that works with your LMS. It ensures academic integrity while allowing students to take exams from remote locations. When used together, Lockdown Browser and Monitor lock down the testing environment while video monitoring the student while taking the exam.

Flipgrid

Flipgrid is a video-based alternative for online class discussions and multimedia assignments.

SoftChalk

SoftChalk e-learning content authoring software that allows for content to be delivered to virtually any LMS. You can even deliver material to multiple learning management systems simultaneously.
